  • Butane fuelled lighters
  • Locate the inlet valve on the bottom of the lighter.
  • Using Ronson Butane, depress the canister nozzle over the lighter inlet valve.
  • Pump the canister in short bursts 3-4 times.
  • Allow the lighter to rest for 5 minutes before igniting.
  • You may now need to adjust the flame height, see “Adjusting Flame height”.
  • Petrol fuelled lighters
  • Remove the outer case of your lighter.
  • Invert the lighter and remove the wadding cover.
  • Using lighter fluid saturate the wadding in the body of the lighter, being careful not to over fill.
  • Wipe any excess fluid from the internal body of the lighter.
  • Replace the wadding cover and outer lighter case.
  • For safety ensure your hands are clean of fluid residue prior to ignition.
  • Remove the valve cover from the back of the lighter casing.
  • Follow the instructions in butane fuelled lighters.
  • Made in England before 1999, there is no need to pump the Butane canister due to a self venting inlet valve.
