Q: What is the Workplace Number?
A : The Workplace Number will replace the current factory number used for identifying companies and factories in transactions (such as factory or statutory equipment registration) with the Ministry of Manpower. This will be effective starting on 19 February 2010.
The current Factory Number is a string of 10 alpha-numeric characters, e.g. B12345C001. The new Workplace Number will take on the format: Unique Entity Number (UEN) + 4 digits e.g. 123456789A0001
